Angela Maria Giron MD

After medical school, Dr. Giron gained significant experience as a general practitioner, her broad spectrum of practice included from providing care to an underserved population at Hospital Universitario del Valle a quaternary medical and trauma center, to Intensive care unit patients at Fundacion Valle de Lili ,a state of the art private hospital frequently named amongst the best in Latin America.

In 2004, Dr. Giron relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she finished her residency training at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania health system the nation’s first Hospital. Dr. Giron’s passion for Infectious diseases brought her to Miami where she successfully completed her Fellowship at Jackson Memorial hospital. Dr. Giron has been practicing primary Care, Infectious diseases and Travel medicine since 2009 at the Mercy Hospital campus in Miami where she currently has her private office in the Mercy Professional Building. She is also affiliated to Sister Emmanuel Hospital and is part of its Medical Executive Committee.

Dr. Giron is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Infectious Diseases and by the American Association of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM). She is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA), American Heart Association (AHA) and the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Giron is fluent in both English and Spanish. Her areas of interest include: Infectious Diseases, HIV/AIDS and Travel Medicine. Dr. Giron complements her outstanding professional credentials with a compassionate and warm delivery of care for her patients.
